What Is Root Canal Treatment?
Root canal treatment (endodontic treatment) is the process of removing inflamed or infected dental pulp caused by deep decay, fracture or trauma, filling the canal, and saving the tooth without extraction. At Emriva Dent Dental Clinic in Antalya, rotary NiTi systems and electronic apex locators are used for a minimally painful procedure.
How Is Root Canal Treatment Done?
- Anaesthesia: The area is numbed with local anaesthetic — no pain is felt throughout the procedure.
- Access Opening: A small access hole is made in the top of the tooth.
- Canal Cleaning: Infected tissue is removed and the canals are shaped with rotary NiTi files.
- Irrigation: Canals are disinfected with sodium hypochlorite and EDTA.
- Obturation: Canals are filled with gutta-percha; length is confirmed with an electronic apex locator.
- Restoration: The tooth is closed with composite filling or a zirconia crown.

Is Pain Normal After Root Canal?
