The Emrivadent periodontology unit offers a wide range of services from scaling and root planing and deep curettage to laser periodontitis treatment.
What Is Periodontal Disease?
Gum disease is an inflammatory process caused by bacterial plaque accumulating on the tooth surface. It has two main stages:
- Gingivitis: Reversible inflammation affecting only the gums.
- Periodontitis: An irreversible stage in which inflammation spreads to the alveolar bone. If left untreated, it leads to tooth loss.
Symptoms of Periodontal Disease
- Gum bleeding (while brushing or spontaneously)
- Gum recession — teeth appearing longer
- Bad breath (halitosis)
- Tooth mobility
- Pain while chewing
